About Rossella
Coming to therapy can feel like a big step. You may know exactly what is troubling you, or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel right. You don’t need to have all the answers before we begin.
My aim is to offer you a safe, warm and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and talk openly about what you are experiencing.
I work from an integrative, person-centred approach, which means that I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. Every person has a different story, and together we can find an approach that feels right for you, your experiences and what you hope to get from therapy.
I have extensive experience working with addiction and problematic substance use, both in private practice and in a residential rehabilitation setting, where I support people experiencing a wide range of addiction-related difficulties. This has given me a deeper understanding of the complexities of addiction, recovery, relapse and the emotional experiences that can sit underneath substance use.
I also have experience supporting people with Chemsex and trauma, as well as difficulties with self-esteem, shame, anxiety, relationships, intimacy, identity, suicidal thoughts and self-harm. I work with behavioural patterns such as gambling, pornography and shopping when these have become difficult to manage or are affecting your life.
Sometimes we develop ways of coping that may have helped us get through difficult experiences, but later begin to cause problems. Rather than judging these behaviours, I believe it is important to understand them. Together, we can gently explore what might be underneath them, what needs they may be meeting, and what you might want to do differently.
My work is LGBTQ+ affirmative and trauma-informed. I want you to feel able to talk openly about your sexuality, relationships, identity, substance use or anything else that feels important to you, without shame or fear of being judged.
I am Italian and bilingual, and I offer therapy in both English and Italian. You can choose the language that feels most natural and comfortable for you, and we can also move between the two if that feels right.
You don't have to decide everything before you start. You don't have to know whether you want to stop using substances completely. And you don't have to become a different person.
We can start with where you are now. From there, we can work together, at your pace, to understand what is happening and what meaningful change might look like for you.
