What you pay to be found
You trained for years to sit with people, not to buy advertising. The big private listing sites bill you every month whether anyone calls or not. We do not charge you anything until a client pays you.
We are one of the platforms in this table, so discount our opinion accordingly. Every other figure comes from the provider's own page, with the date we read it. Find one out of date and tell us; we will correct it.

A subscription costs you most in the months you can least afford it
Every therapist we speak to knows the feeling of a thin month. Two clients end at once, the diary opens up, and the listing fees go out on the same day they always do. You pay the most attention to that line on your statement exactly when it is buying you the least.
Psychology Today and Counselling Directory come to £239.40 + £245.00 = £484.40 a year between them. That is money you commit before you know whether a single person will get in touch.
Here you pay nothing to be listed. We only take our 25% when someone has actually sat down with you and paid for the session. If we send you nobody, we have earned nothing, which is the arrangement we would want if we were on your side of it.
Where a subscription wins
We are not going to pretend we are always the cheaper option. At a £75 session our 25% is £18.75, so £484.40 of listing fees is worth about 26 sessions of our commission. If we send you more work than that in a year, a subscription would have cost you less, and if your practice is already full it almost certainly would.
The comparison that flatters us least is Harley Therapy, who take the whole of your first session and 12% after, so over a long course of therapy they can work out close to us. Their numbers are in the table above rather than left out of it.
We would rather you knew that now than found it out later and felt sold to.
You still get the page people can find
The thing a listing site actually sells you is a profile someone can land on. You get one of those here too, on our therapist directory, with your photo, your registration body, what you have trained in, the languages you work in and your own rate. The difference is that it costs nothing to be there.

One real constraint, and we would rather you read it here than in a contract: when we introduce a client to you, we ask you not to take that person off the platform. We paid to find them; you do the work that keeps them.
