About Callum
I am an ACP-registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist offering specialist psychotherapy for children, young people and young adults aged 0–25, alongside support for parents and families. I am also a trained Counsellor and Mental Health Nurse.
I understand that seeking therapy, whether for yourself or your child, can feel like a significant step. You may have been struggling for some time, feel unsure about what is happening, or simply want a space where things can be explored and better understood.
My approach is psychodynamic and psychoanalytic, which means we work together to understand not only the difficulties you or your child are experiencing, but also the feelings, relationships and experiences that may lie beneath them. Sometimes emotions can be difficult to recognise or put into words, and therapy offers an opportunity to make sense of these at a pace that feels manageable.
I work with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, family relationships, experiences of loss, trauma, and difficulties with identity and self-esteem. With younger children, I use play, creativity and observation to help understand feelings that may not yet be expressed through words. I also offer parent-infant and parent-child psychotherapy, helping parents make sense of their child's emotional world and strengthen their relationship.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to therapy and begin thinking together about what might be helpful. There is no expectation to share everything straightaway. I will take time to understand your experiences, any concerns you may have and what you hope to gain from therapy. Where I am working with a child, the initial consultation will usually involve their parent or carer.
Above all, I aim to offer a thoughtful, consistent and non-judgemental space where difficult feelings can be explored, experiences can begin to make sense, and meaningful emotional change can develop over time.
I offer appointments in person in Birmingham and online where appropriate.

Our advice: start with the free discovery call and a session or two. If it feels right, a package is the better option, for the price and for the consistency, which is the part of therapy that really makes a difference.
