About Amy
I'm an integrative psychotherapist, which means I don't hold to one single model. Instead, I draw on several approaches and shape the work around you — because you're not a diagnosis, you're a person with a history, and that deserves a considered response.
I offer both short-term counselling, where we work towards something specific, and long-term depth psychotherapy, where we take time to understand the deeper patterns. Within a safe space, I'll provide a trusting environment for exploration, and you'll always set the pace.
My qualifications mean you receive a high standard of care, but what people tell me matters most is how it feels to sit with me. Taking the first step towards change is hard. I hope my approachability — and yes, my humour — can make that experience a positive one.
I’ve been a therapist for 13 years, with 10 years of post-qualification experience, so I’ve spent a fair amount of time listening, untangling life’s complexities, and helping people make sense of the things that keep them awake at 3 am. I still haven’t figured out how to stop my own brain from occasionally joining in.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a career in criminal justice, working within both the prison service and the police force. It’s fair to say this gave me a pretty good insight into human behaviour, trauma, and the many ways life can knock us sideways. I bring this experience into my therapy work, particularly when supporting people affected by trauma and vicarious trauma.
I have a particular interest in neurodiversity, relationships, attachment, and the wonderfully complicated business of being human. Whether you’re navigating relationship difficulties, trying to understand lifelong patterns, struggling with boundaries, or wondering why the same dynamics keep cropping up despite your very best efforts, I offer a space to explore it all without judgement. I’m also approaching the end of an additional Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, which has helped me add depth to my relational work.
My work with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) has also given me valuable insight into workplace stress, burnout, and the fine art of trying to keep all the plates spinning while quietly wondering how everyone else seems to be managing.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly serious to be meaningful. There’s room for honesty, curiosity, the occasional laugh, and the realisation that sometimes our coping strategies, which once served us brilliantly, have become a little past their sell-by date.
Ultimately, I want therapy to be a space where you can show up as you are, make sense of your experiences, understand yourself and your relationships more deeply, and find ways forward that feel right for you. No judgement, no expectation to have it all figured out, and absolutely no need to pretend you’re fine when you’re not.

Our advice: start with the free discovery call and a session or two. If it feels right, a package is the better option, for the price and for the consistency, which is the part of therapy that really makes a difference.
